Well it seems that Ted's great Yellowstone National Park adventure
had ended (and so has the contest) and he is back home safe and sound. Thanks Ted for taking the time and effort to share not only your summer but the pictures as well. Ps. Don't miss June 10, 2004! Yellowstone Pictures 2004
The “Where’s Ted Chronicles!”The “Where’s Ted Chronicles!” Iss. 1.0 As most of you know Ruth and I enjoy traveling. This summer is different we are traveling separately. Ruth will remain in Dallas on a new work assignment with one of her old clients while I will be working (?) in Yellowstone National Park for four months. Ruth said four months is too long to be there and that she would suffer from “City Withdrawal Syndrome” and “Lack of Shopping Disorder”. How well I understand and I certainly don’t want to be responsible for an outbreak of these maladies. Although Ruth did not want to go for the summer she will visit and she has been my cheerleader on this endeavor. It’s with her love and most of all her support that encouraged me to make this happen. I cannot thank her enough for helping me to go to “camp” this summer. From May 25th until Oct 1st my email address will change to ynp@tedglover.com or ynpted@pocketmail.com. Due to very limited services and access to the internet my email access will be severely reduced. I will not be able to receive attachments or email over 5,000 characters long. So please, please no long jokes or attachments. If you are interested in “weak” updates of the “Where’s Ted Chronicles!” send an email to either ynp@tedglover.com or ynpted@pocketmail.com with the email address you would like the “Chronicles” sent to and I’ll add you to my list. Periodically I’ll send everyone a brief note on what I’ve been doing, what’s happening in the park and what the plans are for the remainder of my stay. Yellowstone National Park WebCam Page All you have to do is find me sitting at either of the locations. I’ll be at the exact location of the pointer and not wondering around some place else. At Old Faithful I’ll be at the left side of the junction of the 2 walkways and at Mammoth I’ll be on the right end of the table. I’ll be sitting with my elbows on my knees and my chin resting on my hands. Catch me in a picture and save it. Periodically while I’m there I will publish the dates and times I was at the locations. Compare the date/time I send to the date/times at the top of your picture(s) and if they match send the picture(s) to Ruth and you will win a prize (only one prize per contestant). Who knows I may forewarn you of when I’ll be where. You can also win a prize by visiting Yellowstone National Park, taking my picture and sending it to Ruth. During my off hours there I plan to see as much as possible and take a googol of pictures. When I return I will post an Album for all to see. Y’all have a great summer! I will! Thank you Ruth! Ted Glover Life is an adventure, live it! PS.
-----Original Message----- Well if you were looking on 5.29.2004 at MAMMOTH between 9:30am and 9:35am or again between 10:40 and 10:45am you should have captured me. Today 5.31.2004 you may have captured me if you were looking at Old Faithful between 2:15 and 2:30pm. This was a training day and we had to take a bus tour of the park so we are familiar with all the attractions. Until next time Ted Glover The adventure continues!
-----Original Message----- I have been busy! I must apologize to those of you looking for me but I have not been able to be at either location. They really want me to work and it is forcing me to cut back a lot on my extra special activities. I have neglected keeping you'al up to date because I've been out enjoying nature. The animals and the trails are keeping me very busy on my days off. Last week it was 4 miles round trip with a 500 foot increase in elevation. This week its 14 miles with no elevation change. I've done most of the trails in the Lake area and will now go to some of the other areas. I have seen all of the types of animals in the park except the mountain sheep and I'm hoping to see that the end of the month. The buffalo are everywhere especially in my front yard. So far my favorite animal is the family of Ermine (sp?) that live near my dorm. They are about 12 inches long and look like miniature weasels. It sure would take a lot of them to make a coat! I'm nearing the half way point of my adventure. The novelty is wearing off but its still fun! Until next time! Ted Glover The adventure continues!
